Top 10 things to do in Val d’Isere 2025

Part 1of 2

Our Highlights Numbers 1-5

What makes us smile?

In this story we take a different view of the things to do in resort. It’s not about the usual tourist traps, instead it’s about what we as locals enjoy the most. If you are planning a trip to Val d’Isere make this your bucket list to tick off to give you the best holiday experience.

Number 1.
Catch the pink bubble on the Olympic Express!

The huge cable cars of the Olympic Express which departs from the left side of the Sun Bar on the snow front of Val d’Isere, travels over the infamous Face black run to the top of the Bellevarde. The Pink Bubble comes around about once every 10 minutes and the best time to catch a ride in this charming cable car is mid-afternoon when there is no queuing time.

Cost: Free with your lift pass.

Number 2.
Discover the Village Perdue!

Hidden in the forest halfway down the Diebold blue run from the top of the La Dialle bubble lift, this mini wonderland of treetop walkways, huts, sculpted wood and treehouses is a must for big & little kids alike. The path in can get well used and the best time to visit is in between main ski school times.

Cost: Nothing

Number 3.
Ride the Leissieres chairlift!

Known as ‘The up & Over’ this must be the most filmed chairlift on social media. Like a roller coaster it takes you over the 3000m high Crête des Leissières, and links the Solaise area to Le Fornet. This unique chair has you riding both up and down in either direction. The views at the top are stunning and butterflies in the tummy, guaranteed.

Cost: Free with liftpass

Number 4.
The Rosee Blanche, La Dialle

The Rosee is one of our favorite places in the area to take a break. Run by a fun and friendly team headed by Yan, there is a terrace at the front which is super popular on a sunny day and at apres ski. Inside has a cozy fireplace on cold days where you can enjoy a hot chocolate with a mountain of cream or their famous Vin chaud. We think there is no better way to end the week than with a glass of Rose at the Rosee terrace apres ski.

Cost: Reasonable

Number 5.
Val by Night Fireworks

There is a fabulous firework display one evening of all the peak weeks. Le Face d’Bellvarde is the location for the bursting display of colour, a torchlight descent, sometimes by the ESF and other times by the independent ski schools and instructors. While lazars are writing in the sky and music blasts across the snow front, you can help yourself to a free hot chocolate or vin chaud, although you will need some euros to by the cup. A true spectacle not to be missed.

Needless to say, your BASS ski instructor will show you all these highlights and a whole lot more. Book your Instructor. BASS Products 2025
